According to reports from Italy, Chelsea has reached an agreement with AC Milan for the transfer of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, with the deal reportedly worth £18.5 million.

Loftus-Cheek, who is 27 years old, is among the players set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer as Chelsea aims to streamline Mauricio Pochettino’s squad for the upcoming season. Follow your favourite Premier League team with attractive football betting odds from Gclub.

Despite making 33 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions last season, Loftus-Cheek struggled to secure a regular place in the midfield.

AC Milan, on the other hand, is in the market for a new central midfielder as they are on the brink of selling Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United in a £60 million deal.

As per Sky Sport in Italy, Chelsea and AC Milan have now come to an agreement for Loftus-Cheek, with the deal valued at £18.5 million, including add-ons.

With this move, Loftus-Cheek becomes the third first-team player to depart Chelsea this summer, following the transfers of Kalidou Koulibaly and N’Golo Kante to the Saudi Pro League.

In addition, Hakim Ziyech is currently undergoing a medical examination in preparation for his move to Al-Nassr, while Edouard Mendy is expected to join Al Ahli.

Arrigo Sacchi, the former head coach of AC Milan, has expressed his support for the decision to sell Tonali and acquire Loftus-Cheek as a replacement.

Sacchi stated, “Certain players are vital for a club like Milan. You will see that Milan will take risks with young players, attempting to emulate Napoli. Don’t forget that they won the title after selling Koulbaly, Insigne, Mertens, and Fabian Ruiz, their most renowned players.”

He went on to praise Loftus-Cheek, emphasizing his physical strength, mobility, and international experience, which he believes will contribute to the growth of the team. Get the latest updates from the Premier League only on Gclub Sports.
